Five fire engines attended Cottingley Towers just after midnight last night (00:31 on Friday 10 February 2017) to tackle a flat fire. Breathing apparatus was used and one firefighter suffered smoke inhalation. He was taken to hospital for a precautionary check up. No one else was injured in the blaze.
Police were called to Lanshaw Crescent in Belle Isle at 6:19pm yesterday (Thursday 9 March 2017) following a report of a body at an address. Emergency services attended and found the body of a man, who was believed to be in his forties. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
