The marquee is at the heart of The Great Middleton Park Show every year, displaying the skills and talents of local people.
From the giant marrows to the beautiful home-grown flowers on one side to the art, craft, photography and home produce on the other side, the tables are brimming with the fruits of people’s hobbies. Entry is free and everyone is encouraged to show off their handiwork. See the categories on the Show website – show.fomp.co.uk or on the printed leaflets in the visitor centre.
The schools’ handwriting competition has already taken place, and all the entries will be on display in the marquee. The winners will be presented with their prizes at the Show.
Peace and Unity is the theme is for this year’s Show, which takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026, 12-4pm, bringing people together in the beautiful greenspace of Middleton Park.
Chair of the Show working party, Frances Jones, said:
“We have taken inspiration from Hunslet Carr Primary School’s wonderful work around the question ‘What can we do to spread love, not hate?’
“Middleton Park is used by people from all the communities surrounding the Park and we want to celebrate that diversity.”
Middleton Park is a place of sanctuary for people and for nature. The Great Middleton Park Show is an opportunity to bring together people from all of south Leeds’ diverse communities, so please get thinking about what you can enter! Or maybe you will have a good look round this year and be inspired to get creative for next year.
Other attractions at the Show include donkey rides, birds of prey flying displays, ferret racing, live music, have-a-go dancing, giant bubbles, a market street of stalls and food and drink stands. Or get active on the climbing wall, playing disc golf or cycling. Big Bike Fix will be there, so bring your bike for repairs and advice.
The Show relies on a friendly team of volunteers. Please get in touch if you can spare some time on Sunday 13th September and would like to join us. Jobs include stewarding, registering entries, selling plants, staffing the tombola stall, litter picking, putting up and taking down gazebos… etc. Email info@fomp.co.uk for more information.
We look forward to sharing a great day out on Sunday 13 September.
