Major changes are taking place to vehicle movement in the city centre, as King Street and Thirsk Row are becoming two-way, starting on Sunday 8 January 2023. Preliminary works to transform City Square into a more people-first environment will begin from Sunday 4 September 2022 affecting routes into the city centre from South Leeds. The traffic management works will divert all through-traffic away from City Square, ahead of its permanent closure to traffic in February 2023 –
The Queen’s Hotel wouldn’t take their booking, so Holbeck Elderly Aid‘s craft group had their Tour de France tea party, al fresco, in City Square today (Thursday 3 July 2014). They were there to celebrate the Yellow Jersey they had made for one of the statues in City Square,
The craft group at Holbeck Elderly Aid have been inspired by the Tour de France Grand Depart and have created a yellow jumper for one of the Nymph statues in City Square. The group meets every Thursday afternoon and have created jumper bunting to display in Holbeck as well
