Business owner and three times pancreatic cancer patient gets business boost by TV’s Theo Paphitis.
Carl, owner of Market Wraps, a Leeds-based street food business that specialises in barbecue slow cooked meats served in his Mum’s handmade flatbreads on Leeds farmers’ market is overjoyed to win the title.
“This means a lot to me, it’s great to be recognised and have a spotlight on our business, especially by Theo, It has been a tough few years for me personally, which makes the award even more important.”
Carl who as been battling pancreatic cancer while creating and pushing his business thanks all the support he has had from his friends and family:
“Together we where not only able to carry on the business, but also make it grow into something special, it feels amazing that we have all been recognised for making Market Wraps the business it is.”
Theo says, “I admire people who have passion and energy. If you cannot bore your friends to death about your own small business then something is seriously wrong. I was struck by the number of business owners on Twitter who wanted to tell me about their new products and services. Small Business Sunday was born so that people have a specific time slot to tweet and can pitch their ‘sell’ directly to me.”
Market Wraps was one of the 6 business that was chosen out of 1600, this was then tweeted to over 450,000 followers.
Twitter went mad! Carl said:
“We have now so many more followers and we have had a lot more traffic to our website www.market-wraps.co.uk and even more enquires for our corporate events and weddings. We are really looking forward to meeting Theo, and thank him for this opportunity.”
