Consultation to discuss new Beeston community centre

Beeston residents are being invited to give their views on ambitious plans for the future of a popular local community centre.

Beeston Village Community Centre 02Health for All (Leeds) has been invited to submit a stage two funding application for a Big Lottery bid to revitalise Beeston Village Community Centre, off St Anthony’s Drive. The centre is used by more than 300 people each week and the proposals would offer additional space to double that number.

The charity is holding two consultation events for anyone who has an interest in the centre to give their views in shaping the design and services of the centre in future.

Health for All Chief Executive Pat McGeever said:

“Health for All is really excited to be working with elected members and local people to get the funding for a new community centre in Beeston village. We believe the people of Beeston deserve it!”

Toshal Bhatia, Health For All Healthy Communities Manager, added:

“We are seeking to develop an innovative model for a well-managed, modern community space with first-class facilities and expanded opportunities at the heart of the community.

“We want to find out what services and facilities people would like to see in the new community space and for them to contribute their ideas to its design.”

The public consultations will take place on:

Wednesday 29 July from 1.30pm–5pm at Beeson Village Community Centre, St Anthony’s Drive, LS11 8AB.

Tuesday 4 August 10.30am-12:30pm at Beeston Village Library ( near Beeston Village Health Centre)
