Two young people from South Leeds are hoping to take part in a life-changing Outward Bound residential in Scotland — but they need the support of their local community to make it happen.
Jaden and Sonny, from Holbeck, have been offered the opportunity to attend the programme, which focuses on building confidence, resilience, and teamwork through outdoor challenges. The trip would see them travel to Scotland to take part in activities such as hiking, climbing, and group problem-solving in a completely new environment.
For both boys, this is much more than just a trip away. It’s a chance to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and experience something positive that could shape their futures.
They are well-known locally and have shown great potential. Opportunities like this can be a turning point — giving young people the chance to see beyond their current circumstances and believe in what they can achieve.
Outward Bound programmes are widely recognised for helping young people develop key life skills, including communication, leadership, and resilience. Participants often return with a renewed sense of purpose and self-belief.
However, there is a challenge. The cost of the residential means that without financial support, Jaden and Sonny may not be able to take part.
A GoFundMe page has now been set up to raise the funds needed to get them there. The aim is simple: remove the financial barrier and give these two young people the opportunity they deserve.
Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly towards helping Jaden and Sonny take part in this incredible experience.

Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing the page could make a huge difference.
With the backing of the South Leeds community, Jaden and Sonny could soon be heading to Scotland for an adventure that has the potential to change their lives for the better.
