As the days get warmer and longer, Slung Low’s Warehouse in Holbeck comes out of hibernation with three touring shows in April.
The Tower and the Telescope | Saturday 4 April, 7:30pm,
theOBJECTproject return to Slung Low with their latest slice of clown/puppet dystopia, following in the wake of PIXIEMATOSIS and The Ballad of the Underwater Daughter.
It’s a hand-cranked, clanking puppet world where everyone and everything feels irretrievably lost. But it’s all ok because something is watching over them. Something huge and warm and fuzzy almost like happiness .… except with massive bone crushing arms.
Fixing | Saturday 11 April, 7:30pm
When Matt was little, their dad bought a classic car. A 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Mark II. Dad had ideas that he and Matt would do it up, repair, rebuild together.
Now in their 30’s, Matt would like to learn how to fix a car engine. Matt can’t do this alone, which is tricky for a solo show.
That’s where Matt’s drag alter-ego Natalie Spanner comes in.
Matt and Natalie will try to ask, in an increasingly broken world, how might we repair ourselves, together?
Bus Stop Goths | Saturday 25 April, 7:30pm.
Fantasy meets punk with a Teesside twist.
A joyfully chaotic celebration of youth expression and identity.
Join celestial beings Sid and Viv as they keep a watchful eye on the streets of Middlesbrough. Their office might be in a dingy basement, but the streets they look in on are far from drab and gloomy.
As always these shows are pay-what-you-feel, book your free tickets and decide how much to pay after the show. The Warehouse in Holbeck is on Crosby Street, LS11 9RQ.
