Hunslet Moor bowling hut consultation

Hunslet and Riverside Ward Councillors are keen for the community to give feedback on the possible future use of the disused bowling hut on Hunslet Moor.

Following the use of the bowling hut by the Friends of Hunslet Moor over the summer to support the Healthy Holidays project taking place on the moor, councillors noted the wider community was keen for the hut to be brought back into longer term use.

Cllr Mohammed Iqbal said

“We have long wanted to bring the bowling hut back into use, but it was never practical for the Council to do so itself as there wasn’t a justifiable use. Now there is genuine public interest and possible partners to run it – we want to explore these options. Cllr Nash, Cllr Wray and I are very hopeful there is a brighter future for the building ahead.”

Councillor are keen to hear what people would and wouldn’t like to happen at the bowling hut should it be transferred to community ownership or management. They are asking for people to submit suggestions online at bit.ly/BowlingHutFeedback by the 30 September 2021.
