Harry the Hawk’s Happy Hour A Huge Success!

Harry The HawkDevelopment Officers Lois Forsell & Barry Eaton have been visiting local Primary Schools in the Hunslet Area for the past four weeks. They have been coaching year one and two pupils each week at Hunslet Moor, Hunslet St Mary’s and Hunslet St Joseph’s. The children have developed their physical literacy and learnt exciting rugby league skills such as passing and scoring tries.

The children were all invited to Harry the Hawk’s Happy Hour on Saturday 30 November at Soccer City in Leeds. The session was free of charge and Hunslet Hawks also provided free transport from Hunslet Warriors to Soccer City. Hunslet Hawks were working with Hunslet Warriors to boost their numbers in their cubs and under 7’s age groups.

Harry the Hawks Happy Hour saw eight new faces join Hunslet Warriors cubs and 7’s joining in their fun training session with coach Steve Bisby. They were put through their paces and showed off all the skills they have learnt in PE at school with Lois and Barry. As the session came to an end the children were joined by Harry the Hawk who had pictures and signed autographs!

The children all had a great time and were all asking when they can come back! It was a great day so thank you to Soccer City, the primary schools and Hunslet Warriors. For more information on junior rugby league in South Leeds email lois.forsell@hawksrl.com or ring 0113 271 2730.
