Over the next three days (Wednesday 29 – Friday 31 January 2014) Leeds City Council and partner organisations are running information sessions to help local people apply for the 375 jobs at the new Middleton Asda store.
To attend one of these sessions you must book by phone on the the following numbers: 07891 270634, 07891 270650 or 07891 270652.
At the session you’ll be given important information to help you apply for jobs. All job applications will have to be completed online, we understand applications will open at the weekend. You don’t have to attend a session to apply, but once you start the online application you must complete it in one hour. If you don’t complete it within the time you will not be able to reapply to Asda for six months.
Councillor Kim Groves, who leads on Jobs & Skills for Middleton and Belle Isle and is Chair of the Employment & Skills Board for the Inner South Area Committee, said:
“I would like to thank all the partners who have volunteered their time to help residents, our outstanding Employment Leeds Team who have worked with us on Asda, Aldi, Sanctuary and the Point at the White Rose Centre. All this work is helping local people connect to jobs and training.
“We have worked closely with Asda for many months discussing details around recruitment and training and decided that helping people prepare for interviews and assessment centres would be beneficial for residents who are planning to apply.”
The £30m store on Holme Well Road in Middleton is expected to open in May 2014.
