Music Federation pupils help railway mark Queen’s Jubilee

The Middleton Railway has commemorated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee today (25 May 2022) by planting a tree at its Moor Road headquarters. Children from Windmill Primary and Low Road Primary schools ceremonially planted the tree in front of the railway’s “Engine House” building, witnessed by local councillors, volunteers and supporters.

Changing of the guard in local elections

The Labour Party has lost two of the three seats in South Leeds as Ed Carlisle won the Hunslet & Riverside seat for the Green Party and Wayne Dixon won in Middleton Park for the SDP. Both candidates have campaigned for a number of years and came close to winning
