Leeds City Council has moved reduce the need for unlawful Traveller encampments by establishing a small site at Kidacre Street, near to Crown Point Shopping Centre in Hunslet. It is understood that this is a temporary measure whilst the existing permanent site at Cottingley Springs on Gelderd Road is expanded.

New radio show and running group aims to get people more active

A beginners’ running group starts on 60th anniversary of Roger Bannister’s world-first 4-minute mile. A new weekly radio show and running group at South Leeds Community Radio is hoping to encourage people in the area to take up running to boost their physical and mental wellbeing. The two-part initiative, called
