
Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds.
We start this week in Beeston where Leeds Dads will be holding another free Soft Play session, 10am-12pm on Saturday morning at Little Angels behind the Tommy Wass pub, LS11 7HL. This for dads and pre-school children and there’s free tea and toast! Book: leedsdads.org/events
The Church of the Nazarene host their monthly coffee morning with affordable breakfast on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. Lupton Street, LS10 2QR.
The weekly Police Contact Point at St George’s Centre in Middleton takes place on Saturday, 10:30am-1:30pm. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team in an informal setting.
On Saturday afternoon the Beeston Repair Café returns. Bring broken electricals, clothes needing alterations, a bike that needs attention. The volunteer fixers will do their best to mend them. 1-4pm at St Luke’s CARES shop, 246 Dewsbury Road, LS11 6JQ.
The Still Sunday Yoga Session takes place at St Matthew’s community centre in Holbeck (LS11 9NR) from 10-11am. The gentle yoga session will include breathing techniques, guided meditation, gentle movements and relaxation. It’s brought to you by Holbeck Together and Being You Leeds. The South Leeds Community Kitchen will be cooking up a free meal on Sunday, 4-5:45pm, at St Mary’s Church, Town Street, Beeston (opposite Nisa).
“The Real Deal” is a show that will amaze and a story of unshakeable hope. It’s on at Cottingley Community Centre (LS11 0HJ) on Sunday from 4-6pm. This is a free event with refreshments and pizza slices.
Leeds United entertain Norwich City in the FA Cup, kicking off at 4:30pm on Sunday. You can expect the usual heavy traffic and parking issues around Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley before and after the match.
On Tuesday you can have your say on funding for crime reduction projects in Leeds. The event takes place at Leeds City College’s Printworks campus in Hunslet from 7-9pm.
Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association meet on Wednesday from 4-6pm for their monthly meeting at Hunslet Community Hub & Library, Waterloo Road, Hunslet, LS10 2NS.
MHA South Leeds has organised the Cardinal Come Together on Wednesday, 4-6pm. Join them at Cardinal Court for games and a hot meal. Book on 0113 271 6201.
And finally, the Inner South West Community Committee meets at the Civic Hall on Wednesday at 5:30pm. You can watch proceedings on the livestream.
