What’s On Roundup 26 November – 2 December 2022

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. Please note that our online What’s On calendar here is currently out of action

We start this week at Beeston Parish Centre on Town Street for Beeston’s Big Christmas Fair on Saturday 10am-2pm. St Mary’s Christmas Fair has invited the monthly Handmade & Homemade Food & Craft Market to join forces. All the usual favourites will be there: tombola, café, cakes, cards, jewellery, knitwear, Asian food to take away, lots of crafts and of course, Santa’s grotto.

Middleton Elderly Aid are also holding their Christmas Fair on Saturday, 10am-2pm, at their Social Centre on Acre Road.

Elliott Hudson College are holding an Open Day on Saturday, 10am-12:45pm. The sixth form college is located at White Rose Office Park.

Round off the day with some Rock’n’Roll Madness at the Crooked Clock pub on Sussex Avenue, Hunslet on Saturday night, 8pm-12am.

There’s a Story & Rhyme Festive Special on Tuesday, 10:30-11:30am at Hunslet Community Hub & Library. The free event is for under 5s and their grown-ups and if everyone is good there might be a visit from a very special guest.

Then on Thursday Hunslet Community Hub & Library host their monthly Library Social, 12:30-2pm. Why not drop in for a cuppa.

Join children from local schools to sing carols at 3:30pm on Thursday at Middleton Park Circus. The lights will be switched on at 4pm.

As it’s the first Thursday of the month, Hunslet Carr Residents Association will be holding their monthly meeting at 6:30pm at Woodhouse Hill Community Centre.

And finally, Beeston Community Forum hold their Annual General Meeting at Beeston Village Community Centre, off Town Street at 7:30pm.

South Leeds Life is published by a not-for-profit social enterprise. We keep our costs as low as possible but we’ve been hit by increases in the print costs for our monthly newspaper – up 50% so far this year.
