Saturday sees the Festival of Brewers bring independent breweries back to Beeston. It all takes place at the city end of Dewsbury Road.
If you prefer stouts and porters try Northern Monk’s Dark & Wild City event on Friday and Saturday
Irish Dance was due to take centre stage at Slung Low at The Holbeck on Saturday. Unfortunately one of the dancers has suffered an injury and the event has had to be postponed. However, Sunday’s 5pm show is on, when the question is: If you could tell your Great Grandchildren one thing about how we live now, what would it be? To Those Born Later asks the audience to tell the people of 2170 what 2019 was like.
Hunslet Tenants & Residents Association are holding a regular coffee morning on Monday, 10:30am-12pm at Hunslet Community Hub.
On Tuesday the Middleton Community Group meets at St Cross Church on Acre Road at 7pm.
You can join the Volunteer Rangers at Hunslet Cemetery on Wednesday, 10am-12pm to help clear up the cemetery and look after the wildlife.
There are two Dementia Cafes on Wednesday. These are great events, both for anyone living with dementia, but also their carers. The Cop Shop Memory Café takes place at Elland Road Police Station and run by South Leeds live At home in partnership with the Police. The Arm In Arm Memory Café runs at Middleton Elderly Aid. Both events run 1-3pm.
Hunslet Remembered is a popular monthly reminiscence session at Hunslet Community Hub. This moth’s session is on Thursday, 10am-12pm.
Alternatively you can join a litterpick and clean up organised by Hunslet Tenants & Residents Association, meeting at 10am on Church Street
Thursday also sees Christmas Lights being switched on in Hunslet Carr and Beeston.
If you need free legal advice, it’s available at Dewsbury Road Community Hub on Friday afternoon 2:30-4:30pm.
And finally, The Unpublished Authors’ Fan Club is supportive group for budding creative writers. It meets monthly at The Holbeck and is open to anyone regardless of experience. Friday 6-8pm.
