What’s On Roundup 21-27 February 2026

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds.

We start this week in Belle Isle where there is a group litter pick taking place on the estate from 11am-1:30pm. Meet at BITMO’s Gate centre, Aberfield Gate, LS10 3QH and return afterwards for pay-as-you-feel toasties and tea. All equipment provided.

Staying at the Gate, from 1-4pm the Belle Isle Repair Café will be back. The fixers and stitchers will be on hand to give your goods a second lease of life. At 3pm there will be a planning meeting for this year’s Belle Isle Gala. There will also be winter coats and tea and toasties will be on offer. From 1:30pm there will be a Councillor surgery.

Hunslet ARLFC have a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon against West Hull at Beza Road, kick off at 2pm.

The Survivor-led Sisterhood will be meeting on Tuesday, 10:45am-1:20pm at St George’s Centre in Middleton (LS10 4TQ) offering support for women who have experienced domestic abuse.

There are a host of Police Contact Points this week. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team in an informal setting. On Tuesday they will be at Hunslet Community Hub & Library from 10am-12pm. On Wednesday they are at Dewsbury Road Community Hub & Library, 10am-12pm and at St Matthew’s Community Centre from 10am-12pm. Then on Thursday they will be at Beeston Community Hub & Library on Town Street from 10am-12pm. Finally on Friday they will be at St George’s Centre in Middleton from 11am-12pm.

Hunslet Community Hub & Library host a Community Iftar on Tuesday from 5-7pm. This is a great chance to come together to find out more about Islam and the holy month of Ramadan.

A Councillor advice surgery will be held at Middleton Elderly Aid’s Social Centre on Acre Road on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30am.

Also on Wednesday, you are invited to Get Creative With Gael at BITMO’s Gate (LS10 3QH). The craft workshop is for all abilities and is a great chance to socialise.

The SEN-Tastic group meets on Thursday. It’s open to anyone who cares for children with special needs, parents, siblings, carers, childminders and grandparents and offers coffee, friendship, advice and support. The group runs from 9:15-10:30am at St Luke’s Church, Malvern Road, Beeston, LS11 8PD.

Hunslet Remembered is a chance to reminisce and discuss local history on Thursday from 10am-12pm at Hunslet Community Hub & Library, off Church Street, LS10 2NS.

The Salvation Army hold their monthly Friendship Lunch on Thursday, 11am-1pm at their base on Hunslet Hall Road, LS11 6QB. It’s a warm space with chat and games etc plus a free snack lunch.

If you’ve enjoyed the Ice Hockey at the Winter Olympics why not see it in the flesh? On Thursday evening Leeds Knights take on the Sheffield Steeldogs in the NIHL National Cup. The teams face off at 7pm at Planet Ice on Elland Road.

And finally, on Friday residents of Beeston & Holbeck ward can meet their Councillors at the monthly surgeries: 4pm at Beeston Library on Town Street; 5pm at Slung Low’s Warehouse in Holbeck on Crosby Street; and 6pm at Cottingley Community Centre.
