Friday 1 December 2017 was takeover day at New Bewerley Community School. The day saw KS2 pupils teaching classes, serving dinners, working in the office, and shadowing the Headteacher and Deputy.
Children started the process by thinking about the roles in school, applying for the roles on an application form. The children had to think about skills and reasons they wanted to take on a role.
The takeover challenge was originally launched in 2007 by the Children’s Commissioner‘s office as a fun way to encourage organisations across England to open their doors to children and young people to take over adult roles.
The children enjoyed taking part and are looking forward to next year’s challenge.
