Councillors unveiled a memorial stone yesterday (8 December 2018) remembering the service personnel who served at the Middleton airfield during the First World War from 1916-18. A medal from the First World War has been found and returned to its rightful owners, all thanks to Middleton Primary School. 11 year old Conrad Buckley found the medal on a Heritage Day event, organised by the Friends of Middleton Park, which he attended with the school last month.
