As part of Love Parks Week, Groundwork Leeds came to Cross Flatts Park on Thursday. They brought their entire staff for their annual Activity Day. Staff tended the edible beds, painted bins and generally tidied up around the park. They also organised a free family picnic with giant games
Forty Four runners turned up for the third weekly Parkrun in Cross Flatts Park on Saturday morning. Runners of all ages and abilities turned up to run a measured and timed 5 km course around the park. Some runners clearly knew each other and many didn’t, but that didn’t disturb
Beeston Festival has announced that it is now taking stall bookings for this year’s event. The community festival which takes part in Cross Flatts Park each year will take place on Saturday 8th June. Stall pitches are priced according to the type of organisation and what is to be sold.
Two new Running groups are on the blocks in South Leeds. Beeston Action For Families are starting a beginners running group at the John Charles Centre for Sport. The group will meet every Friday afternoon for 12 weeks, starting on 8th March. Sessions cost £2.80 (£2.40 with a Leeds Card)
A section of Cross Flatts Park in Beeston has been closed to the public this morning. Blue “Police – Do Not Cross” tape was strung right across the width of the park above and below the bowling greens and the Watsonian Pavilion. Police Community Support Officers at the scene explained
