Kate Ditchfield and Chris Tomlinson, who have been together for 6 years, are hoping to win a wedding at Oulton Hall in the Radio Aire Cash For Kids Win Your Wedding competition. They are up against four other couples who all have 18 days to raise as much money as they can for Radio Aire’s charity, Cash For Kids.

Kate and Chris are busy organising fundraising activities and have plans for sponsored runs and head shaves and a bag pack. The top prize in their raffle will be a Supermarket Sweep at the Hunslet Store, with the chance to fill your trolley for free (terms and conditions apply).

Kate told South Leeds Life:

“We met at Morrisons. He was the grocery manager and I was the cake shop manager. We were wearing football shirts to support England and I noticed he looked quite nice in his so I told him! That was the first time we spoke to each other.

“We’ve both worked for Morrisons for 14 years. He’s now a duty manager and I’m a team leader in the pick and pack department.

“We’ve always wanted to get engaged but something always came up that would swallow up the finances!”

You can buy raffle tickets, £2 a strip, from the Customer Service desk at Hunslet Morrisons between now and Friday 16 February. The lucky winner will push their trolley on Sunday 18 February before the store opens to the public.

You can also support Kate and Chris by donating at their fundraising page here: https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/win-your-wedding/fundraisers/kate-and-chris/. Alternatively to donate £5 you can text ‘Couple 3’ to 70808.

Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids supports children in Leeds and West Yorkshire and makes a real difference to the lives of local children and young people. It has a focus on alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life.

“Winning this prize would be amazing, but even if we don’t we will have raised funds for a really great cause” said Kate.
