Celebrate the real Independence Day on 4 July with The Boss & The Beeston Street Band – Yorkshire’s favourite Bruce Springsteen tribute
To all those Springsteen fans who didn’t manage to see The Boss on his UK tour this year or are having withdrawal symptoms, fear not. The next best thing is coming to The Irish Centre in Leeds on Friday (4 July 2025).
The Boss & The Beeston Street Band, Yorkshire’s favourite Springsteen tribute, will be performing a three-hour set at the prestigious live music venue from 8pm on the real Independence Day!
You’ll hear all the classics and some of his seldom heard rarities from the iconic rocker, including the classic ‘Born in the USA’ album in full.
The Boss & The Beeston Street Band has been capturing the spirit, energy and soul of the evergreen Springsteen for over ten years. The band is fronted by local music scene legend Darren Driver, a long-term resident of the Beeston area of Leeds (hence the name).
It’s made up of six other talented musicians from across Yorkshire – including Darren’s wife, Lauren, who plays keyboards, sings backing vocals in the band and also hails from the USA. (See pictures attached).
Lauren said:
“July fourth is a day where we can celebrate how far we’ve come as a nation, reflect on how far we still have to go, and an opportunity to collect hope from our communities to fuel us for the challenges ahead.”
Darren said:
“If you’re looking for a night to enjoy Bruce’s music, the fourth of July will be THE night. And it will be nice to celebrate something truly amazing that’s come out of America.
“The crowd at the Irish Centre always give us a cracking vibe – maybe it’s extra special because of Bruce’s Irish ancestry.
“Bruce’s music means the world to me. He gives every drop of everything he has in every live show, and though his songs are about New Jersey, they could just as easily be about Beeston.
“We’re not aiming to be lookalike or sound alike. We want people to feel the feelings they get at an E-Street Band show.
“Like the E-Street Band, our band is built on friendship and chemistry. The spirit means more than the specifics to us. Fronting this band is like driving a supercar – its loud, powerful and emotional. We hope to pack the full 800 into the Irish Centre on 4 July and we look forward to seeing you there!”
The Boss & The Beeston Street Band plays live on stage for over three hours straight, just like the real E Street Band, and has never played the same set twice.
Bruce Springsteen’s Irish ancestry is rooted in his paternal grandmother, Martha O’Hagan. Her family’s roots trace back to County Kildare and County Westmeath in Ireland. His great-great-great-grandparents left Rathangan in County Kildare for New Jersey in 1853.
