Sports Fairs on Holbeck Moor

Get Set Leeds Local (Active Leeds, part of Leeds City Council) has been working with community partners to bring two Holbeck Moor Sport and Active Lifestyle Fairs on Saturday 31 July and Friday 27 August, both 1–4pm.

It’s been a tough year for everyone, and local organisations and friends wanted to come together to bring some fun to Holbeck Moor and give residents an opportunity to see the wide range of activities happening in and around their local area.

Residents will have the opportunity to meet some of the people behind the organisations they know with Slung Low, Holbeck Together, Hamara, Health for All, Kidz Klub, South Leeds Lakers all supporting these community events.

There’s a range of sports to enjoy including football, tennis; cricket, rugby, basketball and table tennis and much more with fun, introductory activities all available to try for free. No equipment needed, just turn up, see what’s going on and have the chance to try or watch a range of activities.

There’s going to be something for all ages and all the family, so come and meet us and perhaps have a go at a new activity. We’ll be joined by DAZL dance doing some fun dance workshops and garden groovers sessions; Dance On is delivered by Yorkshire Dance for the older adult and will be on the MUGA delivering a taster activity; and an opportunity to try Tai Chi and Yoga with Holbeck based Jamyang centre.

In the cycle zone we have British Cycling providing a fun activity area for the young people, so bring down your bike. The police will be with us, tagging bikes with security chips, helping keep your bike secure from thefts and Dr. Bike helping fix up any basic repairs you might have.
