South Leeds schools step up to help NHS staff

Schools in South Leeds have been doing their bit to support the NHS during the current Coronavirus outbreak, making and donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Design & Technology staff at both Cockburn School in Beeston and Cockburn John Charles Academy in Belle Isle have made 110 face shields (see main photo) and donated 50 pairs of protective eyewear. The items were donated to health centres and care homes in Beeston and Middleton areas and a Leeds midwifery team.

Hugh Gaitskell Primary School in Beeston have also donated science goggles, commenting on Twitter:

“Our science goggles have been donated to the NHS. It’s not much but we hope it helps. You’re all amazing!”
