Acclaimed Holbeck-based theatre company Slung Low and five Yorkshire writers team up to present an afternoon of brand new radio plays in one of the UK’s oldest surviving Working Men’s Club.
Performed and recorded live in front of an audience with on-stage sound effects and live music, these snapshots of life are part love story, part musical, part goon show.
Spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon watching new plays performed live in front of you. Buy some food in the breaks between plays. The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
The Yorkshire writers are Vicky Ackroyd, Dominic Grace, Lisa Holdsworth, Mike Kenny and Eamonn Rooney.
“Real event theatre. A perfect Sunday afternoon.” The Yorkshire Post.
Tickets will be “Pay What You Decide” which means you will pay the company AFTER the show based on what you think is fair and what you can afford. There is a very limited capacity so to reserve a ticket please email boxoffice@slunglow.org with the number of tickets you wish to reserve and a contact telephone number.
Alan Lane from Slung Low said:
“This 15 minutes Live is a part of our renewed commitment to sharing much more of our work in Leeds and with Leeds audiences. We are always at our happiest when presenting our work locally, and excited to be presenting that work in a club which is a vital part of Holbeck.”
Slung Low specialise in making epic, original adventures for audiences in unusual places. They are based at The Holbeck Underground Ballroom (HUB) in Leeds – an open development space for artists and a performance space for work that otherwise might not get to be seen in the city.
15 Minutes Live will take place in The Holbeck (formerly Holbeck Working Men’s Club) one of the UK’s oldest surviving Working Men’s Clubs. Serving Holbeck and the surrounding communities, the venue offers family friendly club hospitality for all its members, club affiliates and bona fide guests. Members receive a warm welcome and regular entertainment in a relaxing atmosphere.
