Retail skills course set to start in Beeston

St Luke’s CARES is running a free retail course for adults aged 18+ at its charity shop on Dewsbury Road in Beeston.

The friendly and supportive 10-week course is designed for adults who would like to build confidence, gain new skills, meet people, and take a step towards volunteering, further education or work.

Learners will work towards a Level 1 Award in Skills for Further Learning and Employment and will have the chance to develop practical skills in retail, customer service, using a till, pricing and organising stock, beginner IT, communication skills, warehouse experience and working as part of a team.

The course starts on Monday (22 June 2026) and runs every Monday and Thursday, 10am–2pm, at St Luke’s CARES Centre, 246–252 Dewsbury Road, Beeston, LS11 6JQ.

Free lunch and refreshments are included.

This course may be especially suitable for adults who have not been in work for a while, feel their confidence is low, want a fresh start, or would like to gain a recognised Level 1 certificate.
