Mark’s Laughter Lounge comes to Hunslet

10 years ago, Mark Wilson was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  Symptoms vary of course, but most people would associate trembling hands with this debilitating disease.  Famous sufferers include the Big Yin, Billy Connelly, whose possible diagnosis was spotted by a doctor who noticed the comedian walking in the distinct small step shuffle which can be a symptom.

And comedy led Mark out of the doldrums, when he attended a comedy night and realised he hadn’t really laughed for 5 years.  Spurred to action, he teamed up with one of the comedians to set up Laughter Lounge.

Mark’s job for Laughter Lounge is to find suitable venues: the comedian finds the comedy acts.  All profits go 100% to research into finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. There’s usually a raffle and people have fun, knowing they are contributing to a worthwhile cause.

Their next event takes place on Sunday 11 August 2019 starting at 7:30pm and is in Hunslet at Hunslet Green, home of the Hunslet Warriors, just at the side of Morrison’s supermarket, so put it in your diary right now.

Tickets are £10 each, adults only admitted, and can be bought on any home matchday or training night from the clubhouse, or on the night. With 4 acts and a compere, there will be something for everyone, so all you over 18yr olds who fancy a night of laughter, get on down on 11 August to Hunslet Warriors.
