The Hunslet Club was delighted to welcome Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe this month, as part of a visit delivered in partnership with the Leeds United Foundation.
Young people from the Youth Club had the opportunity to meet Lucas, take part in football activities, and enjoy a memorable evening in the club. The visit included penalty shootouts, informal games, and plenty of interaction with the group, who were excited to meet a true Leeds United icon.
Lucas was an outstanding sport throughout the evening, engaging fully with the young people and creating a positive and relaxed atmosphere. In a light-hearted moment that quickly became a highlight of the visit, he even joined in with activities including having his nails painted by members of the group, much to everyone’s amusement.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for young people to connect with a sporting role model in an informal and supportive environment, helping to inspire confidence, enjoyment, and engagement through sport.
