Improved access and disabled parking at Arthington Court

Following concerns raised by residents and their families about the uneven access from the car park of Arthington Court to the main access door, and the lack of dedicated disabled parking bays on site. Hunslet and Riverside Councillors put forward a request to the Housing Advisory Panel to fund the creation of an improved level access and new dedicated disabled parking bays.

The Councillors were delighted when the funding was approved and the improvements were completed a few weeks ago.

Councillor Mohammed Iqbal said:

“Several people contacted Cllr Elizabeth Nash, Cllr Paul Wray and I separately about concerns these improvements address. Though these may seem small matters, they make a huge difference to the quality of life for residents. We welcome the fact the Housing Advisory Panel agreed to fund these improvements and they are now in place – we know that they will be well received.

“We always welcome ideas to improve the community, so just like this one, if you do have any, please let us know and we will see what can be done.”
