Hunslet ARLFC donate sports kit for Ukraine

At Hunslet RLFC’s match against Keighley on Sunday (9 August 2026), Hunslet Amateur Rugby League Club from The Oval took the opportunity to present Keighley owners, Kaue Garcia and Ryan O’Neill, with two full sets of rugby kit.

The two men have links with Ukraine and are planning to make a second trip there to deliver kit. The donation consists of one set of old Hunslet Warriors blue kit – socks, shorts and playing tops – and a complete set of the yellow child-size kit from the amalgamated Hunslet ARLFC.

Rather than going to landfill, these kits will have a new life in a war-torn country, hopefully showing the young people in Ukraine that people have not abandoned them. Big thanks must also go to Kaue and Ryan for risking the long train journey, and thank you to Hunslet RLFC for hosting the presentation.
