South Leeds Hiking Group have had big news recently as they secured a National Lottery Community Fund grant to develop the group and further their reach into the community.
The group has been very active recently and I have already covered a number of their hikes and walks, but now the group is spurred on by this news to go even further into the wilds! The grant will help cover equipment and transport costs meaning there will be no barriers to anyone joining them on their hikes.
The group is now also recruiting walk leaders and for a commitment of leading one walk a month they will be provided will full training and support to obtain national qualifications. If you feel you’re a good person for the task get in touch with them on Facebook and let them know, someone will be in touch soon!
The group will be camping in the Lake District this weekend and then their next excursion is to High Seat in the Yorkshire Dales on Saturday 19 October. Transport is provided, if you would like to join the walk contact the group via Facebook here.
