Healthy Holidays at Cockburn Reach Academy

Cockburn Reach Academy was fortunate enough to be awarded funding to run their Healthy Holidays programme again this summer.

Pupils took part in a fantastic range of activities and experiences that encouraged them to learn, grow and build confidence whilst having fun with their friends.

The pupils enjoyed visits to Ninja Warrior, KFC, Stockeld Park LaserZone, Nando’s, Cannon Hall Farm, local cafes and the cinema.

As well as providing enjoyable days out; these visits gave pupils valuable opportunities to develop important life skills in real-life settings.

Pupils were able to learn to order food, handle money, follow routines in public places and learn how to interact positively with members of the community.

For many of the pupils, these experiences help them to build independence, confidence and the skills needed for everyday life.

They get the opportunity to spend quality time with their peers outside of school and build upon their teamwork, communication and friendship skills. The pupils were able to strengthen their social connections and create lasting memories together.

Staff were incredibly proud of all that the pupils achieved throughout the holiday clubs and the positive way they embraced every opportunity.

The smiles, laughter and sense of pride seen throughout the programme, truly reflected the impact these experiences have on the pupils and their families.
