Gardening group mark 25 years with miners memorial

Beeston in Bloom is always looking to improve the area and develop our local heritage. This year we wanted to make it extra special as we are celebrating our 25th birthday.

We looked at the company who manufacture the splendid metal benches that are dotted around Beeston and found they make custom built coal carts. It was agreed that it would make a great feature on Beeston Road and add to the work we already do in Beeston Cemetery around the Miners Memorial and information board.

We intended to fund the project from the profits from last years plant sales, but were delighted to receive a donation from a relative of one of our bloomers. Helen Mylan does not live in the area, but she is so impressed by the work we do and was happy to help. Thanks Helen.
