Friends of Holbeck Cemetery to hold Remembrance walk

Remember a post on South Leeds Life a couple of months ago that featured a slideshow of photographs from one of South Leeds’ real gems – Holbeck Cemetery?

One of the Friends – and founding members – Eve Tidswell has been in touch to say she would be pleased to try and answer any enquiries, including family history, about the cemetery. She says:

“The Friends of Holbeck cemetery will be conducting our annual Remembrance Walk on 13th November 2011. at 2pm.

“We have 86 Commonwealth graves and many private memorials to various servicemen & women. We will be looking in more detail at about 10 or so- memorials and laying a simple cross & flowers on each. Then we will gather around the War memorial, to read the list of all the names of those who died, followed by a minute’s silence.
