Free vintage bus day returns this Sunday

The annual ‘Leeds Running Day’ is back this Sunday (18 August 2019), with vintage buses and coaches offering free rides all day across south and central Leeds.

The beautifully restored vehicles will circulate 10am to 5pm, between Thwaite Mills museum in Stourton, Middleton Railway in Hunslet, Leeds Industrial Museum in Armley, and the city centre (the railway and bus stations). Tickets are free – and what’s more, if you buy a ticket for either of the museums, you get free entry to the other on the day. Punters are though invited to buy an event brochure, to help fund the day.

Feature events at the museums on the day include a transport-themed movie in the 1920s cinema at Armley, and family activities and a classic car show at Thwaite Mills. Middleton Railway (the oldest running railline in the world, right on our doorstep!) will be running steam trains between 11am and 4pm.

The event is run by Black Prince Buses, with Classic Connections and Leeds Museums. Click here for more info.
