This week over 6 days people are walking 120 miles to celebrate 120 years of Rugby League, visiting each of the founder clubs that voted to join the Northern Union back in 1895.
Today’s (21 July 2015) morning leg was from Hunslet’s South Leeds Stadium to the ground of Leeds at Headingley. After a short walk from the Stadium the group paused and former Hunslet players Ray Abbey, Peter Jarvis, Jimmy Brogden, Stuart Keane and Ken Hepples stood on what was once the touch line of the old Parkside Stadium and displayed a sign. 93 year old Jimmy had previously started off the walk from Hunslet’s new ground, South Leeds Stadium.
Today’s walk followed Sunday’s annual sponsored walk to local rival Batley’s ground which raised over £1,000.
