Extra consultation event for golf course land

An additional event has been organised as part of the consultation, reported here, on how the land formerly leased by South Leeds Golf Club and now incorporated into Middleton Park should be used.

The new event will take place at the Watsionian Pavilion in Cross Flatts Park, Beeston on Tuesday 17 August 2021 11am-1:30pm.

Organisers have also clarified that one of the events on Monday 16 August will take place on the site of the proposed Covid-19 Memorial Woodland, and not at the former golf clubhouse. This site is towards the bottom of the Ring Road, on the right hand side as you go up from the Tommy Wass junction towards Middleton. It is the area marked blue on this aerial photograph, lying at the back of the Park Woods estate. The event will run from 4-6:30pm.

The other events are:

Saturday 7 August – 11am – 3pm – Middleton Park Visitor Centre.

Saturday 14 August – 11am – 3pm – Leeds Urban Bike Park.

Monday 16 August – 4pm – 6.30pm – Leeds Urban Bike Park

Anyone unable to attend can also make their views known via an online survey at: surveys.leeds.gov.uk/s/SLGC21/. The online survey is open until Friday 10 September 2021.

  1. Hi I have visited the West Leeds Activity centre, which has a whole host of activities on site, a fabulous climbing tower is one of its main features, also incorporating, a four wheel free wheel circuit, football pitch, it also has a canoeing facility which takes place on canal, which would obviously be difficult, as well as other activities, they also have a special teaching facility, one to one, which I take my Grandaughter
To, which is first class, I know south leeds has a facility, but I don’t think it is on the same scale as West Leeds, could you please give this idea some consideration, as I think this would really put South Leeds on the map, especially as an addition to the overwhelming success of the Bike park
Having worked for Leeds City Council Housing department for many years and also being an Assistant .youth leader at Beeston YMCA some years ago I fully understand the needs of the youth these days and feel that the youth of South Leeds and other surrounding areas would greatly enhance South Leeds’s stature.
