Are you unemployed and living in south Leeds? Then the Leeds Employment Hub can help.

The service is delivered by a team of qualified Employment and Skills Advisors who can support you with every part of applying for jobs, finding training, accessing education, and planning next steps. Support could include help with CV writing, finding suitable vacancies, careers advice, application forms, interview preparation and practice, opportunities to learn new skills, access to local job and apprenticeship opportunities, information and guidance on self-employment, opportunities to hear from a range of local employers, and much more, with the service being tailored to your individual needs.

Beeston resident Osa started working with the Leeds Employment Hub in March 2021. She says of her experience

“My Employment and Skills Advisor was a huge help to me, especially when I was going through a confused and tough time, but thanks to her encouragement and support, I am now excited to say that I am finally on my way to achieving my goals. Because we communicated frequently and she provided me with opportunities, such as a 6 week personal development course, I was able to develop numerous skills and attitudes that I will need in the future; such as confidence, how to be professional and many more.” Osa is now working in retail.

The Leeds Employment Hub has supported over 5,000 people. So if you are unemployed and a Leeds resident and would like to learn more about the service and to refer yourself for support you can email esleeds@leeds.gov.uk or call (0113) 378 4576 and you will receive a response from or speak to one of our friendly Advisors.

You can also drop-in to the local Jobshops at Dewsbury Road, Hunslet, and St George’s Community Hubs & Libraries. A new bespoke service is also being offered for those eligible, to receive intensive one to one support for six months to find employment and a further 6 months in work support.
