Visitors of all ages and abilities are invited to mimic the pros, jump on a bike, and enjoy a cycle around a specially-built 30-metre bike track in honour of the iconic road race the same weekend.
The track will be located in The Village at White Rose, the centre’s new outdoor leisure space, and uses rises, bumps, and bends to generate speed that requires no pedalling.
All participants will receive brief training before getting on the saddle and taking part in games, races, or just a leisurely ride.
Nikki Appleton, Marketing Manager at White Rose Shopping Centre, said:
“With the Tour de Yorkshire racing through our county this weekend, we wanted to bring a small part of that cycling fever to our customers. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a complete newbie, this fun track is a great way to brush up your skills and experience the excitement of cycling.
“We’re crossing our fingers for a glorious weekend of weather across Yorkshire, for both the professionals riding the Tour and for our cyclists in The Village too.”
The track will be open on Saturday 5 May from 12-6pm and Sunday 6 May from 11am-5pm. This is a free event, and all bikes and safety equipment will be provided. For full details, visit www.white-rose.co.uk
