Community radio station prepares to go live

A new community radio station is taking shape at the Cockburn Skills Hub in Beeston and they are looking for contributors and presenters.

The team at South Leeds Radio, led by Mick O’Loughlin, are planning a range of programming including music, women’s issues, local history, sports and South Leeds Life will be contributing to the news strand. Using donated equipment, they spent their first £3 to install an ‘On Air’ light for the studio.

The group are holding a meeting for anyone interested in finding out more about volunteering at the station either as a presenter or on the technical side. The meeting will be held at The Broadway pub on Dewsbury Road at 6:30pm on Thursday 3 May 2018.
