Cycle for Health at Cross Flatts Park

Created in West Yorkshire as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s CityConnect programme, and delivered by Cycling UK, Cycle for Health is continuing throughout 2022 with courses taking place at Cross Flatts Park, Beeston.

Cycle for Health is a 12 week programme which enables people with physical or mental health conditions to start, and continue cycling in a way which builds confidence, self-esteem and fitness through cycle training and guided bike rides.

This FREE to access course is run as a two hour session, once a week for 12 weeks with bikes and helmets provided. Our qualified cycling instructors accommodate health issues and participants progress at a pace that suits the group. Group size is small with no more than 10 on a course.

“The instructors were very supportive and after a few sessions I felt much more confident. Cycling has given me a real sense of achievement and increased my belief in my own abilities. I have also made new friends.” Tony, Participant, Cycle for Health.

The next course taking place at Cross Flatts Park starts on Monday 21 March 2022.

Participants are usually referred by health workers, health charities and community groups. To discuss delivering Cycle for Health for your service users or communities please contact Zoe Westerman, Cycling UK via email at zoe.westerman@cyclinguk.org
