Cockburn School, Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy and Cockburn John Cahrles Academy marked new beginnings for the next stage of the lives of their excellent Year 11 groups with memorable Graduation Ceremonies and Proms.
Parents and carers, family members and school staff joined the celebrations in school for the Graduation Ceremonies. All students came up onto the stage to receive their certificates. Special awards were made to students in recognition of their qualities and success focused on the Values and Expectations of the schools such as resilience, respect, responsibility, independence and aspiration.
Head Girls and Head Boys, made triumphant speeches that paid tribute to their fellow students and to the staff for the hard work and industry throughout their time at the school.
The ceremonies also included stirring performances by Year 11 music students.
Thereafter, students went home to get dressed up for their Prom! The sun shone and the dance floors filled for three excellent evenings.
The students will return to their schools on 20 August to receive their GCSE results.
