On my way home from the excellent Belle Isle Christmas Market on Thursday I couldn’t help but notice some impressive Christmas lights on five houses on and around Belle Isle Circus.
Now, I’m in two minds about Christmas Lights on people’s homes. On the plus side they are fun and they brighten up dark nights. There is something public spirited about dressing your house in lights and they always make me smile. On the other hand they use up electricity that we all ought to be saving, and how can I put this: aren’t they just a bit tacky?
