C.B.F.T. 5k Family Fun Run in Middleton Park

CBFT 5K LeafletThe Ciaran Bingham Foundation Trust (CBFT) is holding a 5k Family Fun Run in Middleton Park on Sunday 8th September at 9:00am.

CBFT already run a number of services for older people in south Leeds. These include monthly Sunday lunch clubs, social interactive meetings (such as the D Day anniversary dinner), Christmas parties and distributing food parcels to isolated older people.

Their next project is set up a counselling service for under 18s affected by the sudden death of a sibling. Margaret Bingham explained:

“Under 18s who experience the sudden death of a sibing are often faced with intolerable circumstances in the family home due to parents trying to deal with their own grief. They often end up taking responsibility for the care of younger siblings when parents are unable to cope with the aftermath of losing a child.”

Runners and walkers are urged to sign up for this event. As well as being great fun, the run will help raise money to keep these projects going. The Friends of Middleton Park are mucking in and opening the café in the park visitor centre for runners and supporters.

You can enter online by going to cbftfamily5k.eventbrite.co.uk. Once you’re registered you will be sent a sponsor form and more information about CBFT’s activities to help you raise sponsorship.

On the day, registration will open at 8.30am. After a group warm up courtesy of The Live Well Project the run will start at 9.00am.

  1. It is a local charity, it does a fantastic job in the community and we should be supporting local charities. I definitely will be taking part in it and will be doing fundraising for this local charity. I hope many other people are going to join in.
