STORY: A major hub for small and medium businesses in Leeds’ burgeoning creative and digital industries could be taken over by the council.

Senior councillors will debate taking ownership of the freehold of Leodis Court and the lease of the Round Foundry Media Centre at a meeting of the council’s executive board on 5 March. A report to the board explains that these assets currently belong to the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) which has now proposed to dispose of them to the council following a review.

The report says:

“It is considered that the Council taking ownership of these assets will assist in delivering regeneration ambitions in Holbeck Urban Village and help to stimulate economic growth.”
