Beeston Youth Theatre is here!

On Wednesday 4 November 2020, Brave Words are launching two brand new youth theatre groups at Beeston Village Community Centre. With drama sessions for young people of all ages (5-17), they will be a great opportunity for children to learn acting skills, make plays, make friends and have fun – in a safe and creative environment.

The sessions, previously held at Tenant’s Hall in Middleton, are relaunching in a “Pay-What-You-Can” model – meaning that nobody will be excluded due to cost. Run by two professional theatre artists with more than ten years’ experience each, they aim to bring high quality drama workshops to the Beeston area.

Artistic Director, Chris says:

“We have a strong focus on creating an ensemble – a youth theatre where children and young people are equals, creatives, and work together as a young theatre company to make shows. It would be rubbish if anyone felt that they couldn’t attend – so we place big emphasis on growing confidence, communication skills and creating a friendly and aspirational environment where young people can start their journey in theatre.”

Sessions will run 4:30–5:30pm (5-10 years) and 5:30–6:30pm (11 – 17 years) during term time, in the upstairs hall at Beeston Village Community Centre.

  1. What a great chance for children and young adults to participate in a theatre group and have an enjoyable time as well.
