Hunslet Library has recently been refurbished, retaining the original character of the building and restoring some original items, writes Julie Wood of the Library and Information Service.
Councillors Elizabeth Nash and Mohammed Iqbal recently unveiled the recently restored Austrian prints which have been part of the library for many years.
Councillor Nash said:
“The library was built in the then contemporary Art Deco style in 1931. It has been fully restored and is now a lovely building both inside and out.
“Some of its original iconic Art Deco furniture has also been restored and these Austrian prints, which have been replaced in their original positions, give the library its final touch of sunshine.”
