Arrested youth ruled out of swan attack inquiry

A youth who was arrested in connection with the shocking attack in which two swans died in Middleton Park has been released without charge, having been ruled out by police investigating the incident.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said:

“A 17-year-old male who was arrested in connection with an incident where two swans were shot in Middleton Park in Leeds has been released without charge.

“The youth, who was arrested on 2 December, has been ruled out the investigation and will face no further action.

“Officers from the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred overnight on 29 and 30 November, and would still like to hear from anyone with any information that could assist the investigation.
