The new police station at Elland Road is throwing open its doors to the public on Sunday 28 September 2014.
The Open Day event will allow residents to see inside the station including a tour of the custody area. There will also be an opportunity to meet the Leeds District Commander, see Taser and public order demonstrations. There’s plenty for children too with mini uniforms, mock ‘wanted’ posters and Percy the police car.
Staff will be on hand to offer advice on Neighbourhood Watch and crime prevention as well as opportunities to become a volunteer or a Special Constable.
Inspector Chris Bowen said:
“This is a rare opportunity for members of the public to see the inside of our police station and should be great fun for all the family.”
The event takes place between 11am – 3pm at Elland Road Police Station on Sunday 28 September. If attending by car, please use the council Park & Ride car park opposite the police station.
