Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.
We start this week with a reminder that as it’s the last weekend of the month, you can drop off Foodbank donations at these locations:
- St Luke’s CARES charity shop on Dewsbury Road between 9:30am-4:30pm on Saturday
- The Bay Horse on Woodhouse Hill Road between 11am-5pm on Sunday
- The Hunslet Club on Hillidge Road between 9:30am-2pm on Sunday
- The Crooked Clock on Sussex Avenue between 12-5pm on Sunday
- North Star Coffee at Leeds Dock 9am-4pm on Sunday
Don’t forget that Crown Point Road will be closed for resurfacing work 6am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are affected by the cladding scandal, there is a public meeting being held on Saturday at 2:30pm at Leeds Civic Hall. The meeting has been organised by Leeds & Yorkshire Cladding Campaign. For more information and free tickets click here.
Don’t forget that the clocks go forward one hour at 1am on Sunday morning.
On Sunday ANDYS MAN CLUB are holding a walk in Middleton Park. Meet at 11am in the car park near the lake for a short walk then back to café for refreshments. Everyone is welcome whether you’ve been to session or not, friends, family and dogs actively encouraged!
On Sunday there are two opportunities to visit some Leeds music history with an Old Chapel Studio Tour at 11:30am or 2:30pm. Book your free tickets at: oldchapelleeds.org/events
If you’ve wondered how to carve stone, get down to The Corner, just off Tunstall Road near Burton Terrace on Monday. Carving on the Corner, organised by BasementArtsProject on Monday, 1-3pm book here.
And finally, there’s a chance to reminisce about days gone by and dig into local history at the monthly Hunslet Remembered session at Hunslet Community Hub & Library, off Town Street, on Thursday morning, 10am-12pm. (Apologies, we posted this a week early last Friday).
