Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.
We start at the Happy Yak Café in the Jamyang Buddhist Centre on Ingram Road in Holbeck. They are hosing the free, monthly Your Space Craft & Café from 10am-12pm. They are offering some family-friendly craft activities, perfect for the summer holidays!
The consultation on the former golf course land being incorporated into Middleton Park continues on Saturday at Leeds Urban Bike Park on the Ring Road, 11am-3pm. There are also sessions on Monday at the Bike Park and on the site of the proposed Covid Memorial woodland close to the Park Wood estate, both events run 4-6:30pm. The final event is at the Watsonian Pavilion on Tuesday 11am-2pm.
On Sunday, 10-11:30am you can trace the route of the Middleton Railway from Leeds Bridge to the Moor Road station with Leeds City Walking Tours.
The Friends of Middleton Park are celebrating the park’s centenary with a people’s picnic in the Rose Garden 12-4pm. Bring your picnic and a blanket and enjoy the sounds from East Leeds Steel Band.
Sunday also sees Hunslet RLFC take on London Skolars at South Leeds Stadium, kick off 3pm.
Finally on Sunday Middleton Park Baptists are hosting a concert of Hope and Restoration at 6:30pm. Book
On Tuesday Get Set Leeds Local (part of the Council’s Active Leeds) have put together a Festival of Cycling 1-4pm in Cross Flatts Park. There’s something for cyclists of all ages and abilities including balance bikes, adult training, repairs, security and group rides.
The free children’s play sessions in Middleton Park this week are Arts& Crafts on Tuesday 1-3pm and Den Building on Wednesday 12-3pm, by the visitor centre. There’s no need to book, but it’s first come first served.
